I tend to think that we are the ones who have an effect on our lives.
Well, this lockdown situation made me think otherwise. We all have readjusted so many aspects of our lives. The latest situations are out of our hands.
Suddenly, we all have new and unusual restrictions that we need to follow. We had to cancel holidays, cannot go out to have dinner, cannot meet with our friends and family when we please, cannot go to a gym. Just to name a few – and the list can be endless.
These are all against my – and so others – plans of course, but these weeks also have taught me to be more flexible and acceptor. It taught me to be more understandable and let things that I cannot change go of my hand. I try to be more creative when planning my day ahead of me, I try to take it easy when my questions are answered only last minute.
It is quite difficult for a person who has straight plans about her life, who likes to make plans, calculations and even spreadsheets to be everything is place. For someone who likes everything organized.
What helped me to accept the situation is greatness. I felt lucky to still be able to go ahead with my moving last week. Even we don’t have half of the furniture for a while, it is okay. I am grateful that my family and friends are healthy and safe for now. Everything else seems so little.
We are only dust in a big machine. It is up to us how we react to any situation that happens with us. We can be angry, disappointed or sad but everything happens for a reason and it is time to reflect on how we want to live our lives. Being frustrated and waste our energy on unchangeable situations or being more flexible and see how we can use the circumstances that we have.
What would you choose?
I am in the middle of my room around a big mess and trying to put my life into boxes. We are moving into a new flat on Saturday.
I am trying to sort out what comes and what goes to charity – when they will open again… My London-life… It happened 6 years ago. I packed a bag and booked a flight to London. I would say it definitely was the best decision in my life.
So many things have happened since I arrived in this (for me) new country. I have had different jobs, apartments, opportunities to grab and lose. I have become friends with so many people and lost connection with so many from the past.
Every step was about moving forward and each move was a bit better than the previous one. I always have had a bigger picture in my mind where I am and where I want to be. Sometimes I could move on quickly, but sometimes time just didn’t want to come.
Working on better chances, circumstances or just call it life is hard effort. These 6 years have taught me whatever want to do in your life is only up to you and your dedication to that goal.
Whatever stage you are in your life it can be better and it will be better. You are the one who can decide what you want and have endurance working on it and make sacrifices.
Change your habit, change your mindset and realize you are the leader of your life. Before that, you always would blame your circumstances, your past, people around you, not having enough opportunity to break out of your current conditions.
Don’t give up. Remember if ‘Plan A’ didn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters! Keep going on!
There are so many decisions in our lives that we need to make. A few of them are bigger, a few of them are smaller.
Usually, I take all pro and contra. Like to do my research and make even a spreadsheet. It depends on the topic of course, but I like to see both sides.
The latest decision I had to make where to live next? We have been renting the same flat for 2 years now and decided to move on to a bigger one. It was time. Me and my boyfriend have quite a different lifestyle. While he sleeps early (he has to wake up too early… fair enough…) I am a night owl. Having an extra room or living room which we don’t have at the moment will be definitely a great idea. Continue reading
I have to say, I actually like it – so far. It has been only 1.5 weeks so it is not really much and let’s see what I will say about this lockdown in a month’s time :O but hey…. let’s live in a present for now. 😉
Since the lockdown, there is great British weather outside of course… which hardly happens usually… and I am only able to look at this tempting sunshine from my window which is next to my desk where I work. Not sure if this is the right spot for me…. Continue reading
We are all going through easier and harder periods in our life. I love to see my friends when they are doing well or get back on track after a bad era. I cannot tell enough how proud I am of them. Continue reading
I have never been out of Europe so planning a trip to Morocco was totally new to me and absolutely exciting as well. I didn’t really know what to expect. I read a lot of blogs and reviews, even ordered a travel book to be ready for this new adventure…
This holiday was decided and planned very quickly… I had a chat with my friend who wanted to go there but was not sure with who and when. I told her that I have been playing with a thought to go there as well and that’s how it started… Continue reading
There are compromises in relationships in general which could be silly or very important ones. We all would like to make our loved ones happy and accept tasks to do which might not be our taste.
However, we have to ask ourselves where is the limit? How much the other person has to take? Is not knowing basic common things okay? Continue reading
This year I decided to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday with a weekend in Stratford-Upon-Avon. We have never been there before and I found a good deal to use Wowcher, so I gave it a go!
My plan was to let him know about this journey just before the weekend, but I needed to be sure he is free on those days so I told him beforehand, but it was still a great present for him! We were excited about this short vacation, especially because we had only a few days off together lately and looking forward to spending more time together and just relax.
There are many things in life that we don’t like to do but it still necessary. Someone doesn’t like to go to a post office or cooking, maybe cleaning windows. Well… I hate shopping. Continue reading
I have read a blog post from a writer who apparently a blogger as well. This post was about that he writes about what he wants, not about an expected topic, because his blog is his blank space. This stack in my mind! How true is it! Continue reading
