I am sure there are stages of being shy, depends on the age. We have different personalities, feelings, hormones, experiences at school, uni, at a party, sport event or workplace. I believe that our experiences and people’s support and behaviour around us can generate feelings about ourselves.
It is normal to being shy when there is the coolest kid in the group.
It is normal to being shy when someone treats you like you don’t have good ideas.
I was learning with my 30 years, how many small but important and huge opportunities I can lose because of shyness. Or even we can call simple just because I didn’t believe or value myself.
For this week I encourage you to think about your life.
Write a list (or just think) about what you would like to do if you will be brave enough.
Write a list (or just think) about what you have regret not to do because you were shy.
This list makes you realize what you have lost already, and what lost chances are not coming back anymore.
I think is good to realize what we have lost or we can lose if we don’t get enough strength. You don’t have to change (actually, it is impossible) today, but this will help you to start a long process.
